ALAIN NKONTCHOU

Alain is the Co-Founder and Managing Director, located in the London office. His responsibilities include overseeing the firm, managing Enko’s client relationships, and investment decision-making. Alain was previously a Managing Director for Global Macro Trading within the Proprietary Trading Group of Credit-Suisse in London, a group he joined in 2005 from JP Morgan, where he had held the same position since 2002.

From 2001 until 2002, Alain was a Portfolio Manager at BlueCrest Capital Management, and prior to that, he spent twelve years with JP Morgan (Chemical Bank). Alain has traded fixed income, currencies, commodities and stock indices over his 20+ years of experience. He is an adviser to Laurent-Perrier, a leading champagne company listed on the Paris Stock Exchange, having been a board member there from 1999 to 2009. Alain is also Executive Director for Ecobank Transnational Incorporated ETI. Alain holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité in Paris and an MSc from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Paris.

TENDAI SAKAIKE

Tendai is a Senior Analyst working from the Johannesburg Office. He joined Enko as an intern in 2010, and is responsible for investment recommendations, portfolio reporting and monitoring and he sits on the Investment Committee. Tendai holds a BA (Honours) Degree in Business and International Finance from Oxford Brookes University (UK), is a Level II CFA candidate, and a Level I CAIA candidate.

Simon Cross

Simon is Chief Operating Officer based in the London office. His responsibilities include overseeing all non-investment management divisions of the Enko group. He has significant knowledge of both listed and owner managed businesses having held senior accounting and operational roles over the past 15 years .
Simon is a qualified Chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He has a double honours degree from Birmingham University in Manufacturing Engineering and Business Studies.

Kojo Amoo-Gottfried

Kojo Amoo-Gottfried, Senior Portfolio Manager of the Enko Africa Debt Fund, has extensive experience in Emerging Markets investing. In his last role, he was the Portfolio Manager for the inaugural Africa Fund at FM Capital Partners, a multi-manager hedge fund. He has extensive experience in Africa, both in investment banking, where he helped to raise capital for sovereigns and corporates across the continent, and in the hedge fund space, where he has invested across the continent in multiple asset classes. He is a graduate of the London Business School and the London School of Economics with degrees in Economics and Finance.

James Marshall

James Marshall is currently a Senior Portfolio Manager Enko Africa Debt Fund.  Prior to Enko James ran the local market Africa trading desk for JPMorgan, working in both London and Johannesburg offices.  James established and expanded the Africa business building an extensive network with local institutions and policy makers in the process.  He has over 12 years of experience in financial markets, running trading books and managing risk in a variety of products and markets.  James holds a first class honours degree in Economics and Finance from Cass Business School and the City University of Hong Kong.
