Enko Africa Private Equity Fund (EAPEF) is a private equity fund established for the purpose of investing in growth companies in Africa across a broad range of economic sectors. It successfully reached a US$48.25 million first closing in April 2014 and is currently fundraising for its final close in 2015.

We view our role as being an active, hands-on investor, and a true source of value creation for the business and its shareholders.

 

Profile of Portfolio Companies:

EAPEF’s investment focus is on entrepreneur-led, mid-size companies with strong management, good growth prospects and a shared vision for a future stock market listing within 3-4 years of investment.

The fund focuses its activities across the African continent, especially those countries with active stock exchanges.

Sectors

EAPEF aims at investing in a broad spectrum of economic activities. The private equity team has significant investment experience in a diversified range of sectors including financial services, agribusiness, healthcare and consumer goods.

 

Investment Size and characteristics:

EAEPF focuses on providing expansion, refinancing or acquisition capital by means of a variety of equity and quasi-equity financial instruments.

EAPEF considers individual investments in the range of US$5-15 million.

The fund will take significant minority stakes of no less than 20%, and ensure that it has adequate minority shareholder governance rights.
