Cyrille Nkontchou launches Enko Education in Abidjan

After South Africa, Mozambique and Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire is the fourth home ground project for Enko Education’s International Baccalaureate focused program

Cameroonian Cyrille Nkontchou, founder of LiquidAfrica and promoter of Enko Investments Education initiative, launched its educational project in Abidjan.

As of September 2016, Enko Education will launch two international programs, Enko International High School at Methodist School Complex John Wesley and Enko Riviera (open from 6th to 3rd), which are intended to prepare students for the International baccalaureate. Enko is also associated with a variety of local schools, including Le Nid de Cocody and primary school focused Butterflies.

“The International Baccalaureate has three programs: primary education, intermediate education colleges and the Diploma Program for high schools,” explained Eric Pignot, co-founder of Enko Education. He also said that international standards of number of students per class and the number of teacher per class hours will be respected.

The cost of training provided by institutions associated with Enko Education in Côte d’Ivoire was not disclosed. In Enko institutions in Cameroon, the annual tuition is around 2 million CFA francs (about 3,000 euros).

Enko Education will provide a scholarship program for 10% to 20% of registered students as access to quality education in the region is often reserved for the privileged elite.

Enko Education intends to allow bachelor graduates of this training to integrate colleges and Western universities. Ultimately, the goal is to develop the initiative Enko Education in twenty countries, with the establishment of thirty schools, for an investment of between 30 and 40 million.

“We are preparing a round to complete the first stage of our strategy. Two institutional donors should join us. For now, it’s LiquidAfrica which is funding the project, “said Cyrille Nkontchou to Jeune Afrique. Source: Jeune Afrique
